Tate Bothun, a junior at Berthoud High in Colorado, won his section and took the top spot overall in the boys varsity small school race at the 16th Desert Twilight Festival by clocking 16:19.0 on the 5-kilometer layout at the Coyote Run Golf Course at Leisure World in Mesa, Ariz. Clark helped Berthoud prevail by a 62-108 margin against Lutheran-Parker of Colorado.
